Michael Saunders has been a force in the Sarasota real estate market for decades. Michael Saunders & Co. is the second-largest residential real estate firm in Tampa Bay. It pulled in $3.42 billion worth of residential sales in 2020. Considered a visionary, Saunders has nearly 50 years in the business. She opened her first office on St. Armands Circle in 1976 with a $5,000 loan. This past year her brokerage has played a key role in a long-anticipated development in downtown St. Pete. Within the first 90 days of sales, New York-based Red Apple Real Estate’s 400 Central condominium tower in the heart of downtown St. Petersburg received more than $150 million worth of reservations. Saunders’ brokerage led the sales gallery for the 46-story tower.
